Hello, this is miontre!As some of you may already know, I am a really big fan of GIMP. That's what I'm going to dedicate this blog entry to!
What is GIMP, and how can I get it?
The GIMP is a free professional image manipulation program. GIMP stands for "GNU Image Manipulation Program".GIMP is a great alternative to expensive programs like Photoshop because it's free and can do almost everything Photoshop can do. For most people, GIMP will be a complete replacement for Photoshop. Majority of things you'd do on Photoshop can be done in GIMP. I strongly encourage you to give GIMP a try before purchasing an expensive program like Photoshop. You'll most likely find it can do what you're wanting, which will save you a lot of money
You can download GIMP completely free at gimp.org. GIMP runs on a large range of operating systems.

Once you start to get the hang of GIMP, you'll even be able to use Photoshop tutorials for GIMP. The features are the same, all you need is an understanding of where things are in GIMP.
