2012 Roundup!2012 has seen #projecteducate advance with the changing times here on deviantART and become an official group! That means that it has been a lot easier to bring you all the information, features, interviews and articles as part of various Project Educate weeks. So with the functions of groups at our fingertips, the articles shared are all in organised gallery folders for ease - all of which are linked in this article.
2012 also saw the Introduction of Community Weeks headed up by members of the community. They're now running monthly and are designed for members of the community to get involved by writing articles on whatever they want - educationally. `JamminJo and `lintu47 are your current community week leads and the people to note if you're interested in contributing! What is Community Week?
The majority of Project Educate is run by the CVs. But there's only a few of them and a lot of us—which is why we're asking you, now, to contribute. Know about a specialized art form or technique? Got some advice on becoming well-known for positivity? Want to share your sweet critique skills? We want it all, and we want it now.

In the past, people have contributed in all kinds of ways. The following are just some suggestions to get your thoughts going!

Whether or not you're willing to take Dr Mehrabian's research at face value, it's undeniable that a lot of what we feel comes from what we see. A friend can say something that would be totally mean, but if they're giggling halfway through the words it's not hard to tell it's a joke. If someone's telling you they had a great day and their voice is quavering the whole time, you can be suspicious.
Languages aren't universal, but most facial expressions translate well across completely unrelated cultures. Is it surprising that we're better able to recognize facial expressions and vocal tones rather than focusing entirely on the words?

Breaking in to Lit!Introduction
Literature has long been considered one of the closest knit communities on deviantART. As a result, some people find it difficult to "break in" to the Lit crowd. There are rumors of elitism, difficulty in getting exposure, and lack-luster appreciation for the incredible work that goes into writing a good piece of prose or a well structured poem.
If you look at a painting you can see amazing detail, great use of color, and the importance of the subject immediately. You know it came from the artist's imagination and that he or she had to spend hours translating that to a canvas. The tangibility of the work is right in front of you. With writing, it is not quite the same. The effort the author puts into the work can only be appreciated if readers put in their own effort to read the work. The gratification is not instant, which is one reason the lit community is so close knit.

Wrong. The key behind all photographs that contain a living and breathing subject is to have the natural look. Just like the key to a conceptual shot is having the idea, the key to portraiture photography is having the eye. Co-operative subjects help too!
I have especially found in the past, that people develop a pained and strained look on their face when the camera is pointed in their direction. ~Sigurd-Quast, formerly known as eViLKoRnY on deviantART, is a German photographer who has won several National and International Awards, including Germany's Best Digital Photographer in 2008 and has been in the Top 10 of the Sony World Photography Awards in the Architecture category in 2009. Born in Nürtingen, he has pursued his studies in Geoinformatics and is now part of the academic staff at the Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences.

What were your first artistic influences, and did they have a hand in the development of your resources?
I joined DeviantArt many years ago and was immediately taken by the photomanipulations. So many amazing works. I started doing some myself and I realised how hard was to find a specific pose or even good objects etc. This is when I took the decision to take my own stock photography. I studied photography at university so grabbing a camera and starting to shoot was not hard, although I was seriously rusty and needed to polish my capturing skills.
