What not to say when suggesting a DD
As CVs we get a tonne of suggestions for DDs, and with those come a variety of assertions as to why the piece should be featured as a DD. Some of these, particularly those that focus on things extrinsic to the art, really don't help get the art featured at all. In fact, sometimes the given reason can hinder the process instead. Here's a breakdown of the most common, unnecessary things we are told.
"The deviant worked really hard on this piece."
This is one of the most common extrinsic reasons I receive in DD suggestions, and the reason why it is so common is also the reason it is a bad one: it applies to just about everyone.

Daily Deviations Week
Daily Deviations (DDs) are often the topic of many discussions here on DeviantArt. The majority of the discussions are based around whether or not artists should care about Daily Deviations. However, there are also debates on whether an artist should make receiving a Daily Deviation a goal. In this article, I am going to explain why you should care about Daily Deviations and why receiving one shouldn’t be a goal.
Overview
Before I go over why you should care about Daily Deviations, it is important you know exactly what you will be caring about. Most artists on the site know what Daily Deviations are and how they

Daily Deviations Week
Overview
As we focus on Daily Deviations this week it is important we discuss what receiving one will and will not do for you as an artist. The reason this is important to discuss is there is often misconceptions over what Daily Deviations offer.
Daily Deviations mean different things to different artists here on the site. For some, receiving a Daily Deviation is indicative that the receiver is in a higher league than others. For others, they view Daily Deviations as a feature and great way to discover other artists. This article will help you understand what receiving one will and will not do.

DD descriptions, why they are important
Daily Deviations Week
Overview
The question on why it is important to include Daily Deviation descriptions have come up a lot over the years. For those unfamiliar with Daily Deviation descriptions they are the thoughts and feelings of a suggester, the featuring volunteer, or staff member regarding a Daily Deviation. For instance, the volunteer, staff member, or suggester may discuss the amazing detail or use of color in a particular piece.
The Importance of Daily Deviation Descriptions
It is important for Daily Deviations to include a description because they provide insight into why a particular art piece received a Daily Deviation. Also,

What are Daily Deviations?
Daily Deviations (or DDs) are a daily feature chosen from the galleries here on DeviantArt. It is selected by one of the approximately 50 Community Volunteers who are responsible for each gallery on DeviantArt. DDs can be suggested to Community Volunteers by finding the correct CV and then sending them a note. Deviants can even suggest their own work to a Community Volunteer anonymously!
Each Community Volunteer is allowed to accept or deny any suggestion that they receive. They are also given the ability to set their own guidelines that work within the parameters of the DeviantArt guidelines.

This one's a bit about communication etiquette ;) First and foremost I believe that we should treat each other with respect and courtesy, be it outside in the world or inside behind our computer screens.
Let's talk about the difference between disapproving of an artwork and disapproving of a Daily Deviation feature. To me those are two very distinctive scenarious, that I will try to explore in this article.
I will use the word "disapprove" as an umbrella word for all the instances of not liking, not understanding, not agreeing with, not seeing the point of it, questioning the difficulty or technical skills, noticing mi
